Ron Howard Confirms Talks about Willow Sequel

Ron Howard is the name behind the helm of Solo: A Star Wars Story, but a lot of people still remember his work back in the 80s on a film called Willow. As it turns out, there have been discussions of a sequel, but they don't look too solid as of now.

Talking to ComicBook, Howard explained:

"I don't want to give away too much, but there is a little talk of Willow… We wouldn't call it Willow 2, I think it would focus a lot on Elora Danan, although Willow would have to be significantly involved."

To those who don't remember, Elora is actually the baby that Willow (Warwick Davis) is tasked to guard, and she is the one prophesized to defeat Queen Bavmorda.

Interestingly enough, Howard said that he found some parallels in Willow when he came aboard for Solo: A Star Wars Story:

"I thought about that movie a lot as I was working on Solo because there are certain scenes, especially around some of the Madmartigan stuff, was reminiscent of a character with that kind of swagger and bravado. And also some of the humor around some of the action in Willow was something I inspired to get into Solo."

Though Willow didn't find the same success as Star Wars, the film still stands as a cult classic. We know that Warwick Davis is always onboard for the newer Lucasfilm projects, so maybe he would have the time to reprise his role of Willow Ufgood.

The Willow sequel has not been officially announced, but you can catch Solo: A Star Wars Story when it hits theaters May 25.
