AnimeJapan 2023 featured a dizzying array of new and upcoming anime announcements, including release dates, trailers, and more. Though one of the highlights of this weekend’s event was the official announcement of Re:Zero Season 3.
During the Re:Zero stage event on day 1, the third season was officially revealed with its first trailer.
Along with the anime’s next installment, a new Re:Zero mobile game was also revealed that’s coming soon to iOS and Android devices.
Re:Zero Season 3 Officially Announced at AnimeJapan 2023
On Friday, the day before AnimeJapan 2023, anime communities online buzzed with excitement about a potential Re:Zero Season 3 reveal. There were even some supposed leaks of Season 3's details.
Finally, when the first day of AnimeJapan went live, the third season was made official. And while there weren’t much in the way of details about the season, the trailer does give us an idea of what to expect.
As with the previous seasons, Re:Zero’s third season is shaping up to be another dark and action-packed affair as the new trailer has an ominous vibe throughout.
Even the new key visual also has some dark implications for Subaru and Emilia.

While isekai anime are pretty much a dime a dozen nowadays, Re:Zero continues to be one of the most popular as its dark story and memorable characters make it stand out.
For now, there’s no word yet on a release date for the third season. This is because the new trailer only highlights that the new season has been greenlit, so it might be a while before we get more details about the show.

Re:Zero Witch's Re:surrection Smartphone Game Reveal
It may be a while before we see Season 3, but fans at least have more to look forward to as a new video game adaptation is in the works.
Titled Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- Witch's Re:surrection, this new game is made for mobile devices and is being developed to celebrate the series’ 10th anniversary.

Much like the next anime season, there aren’t many details about this upcoming game.
But based on the trailer, it seems to be an action RPG that’s in the vein of popular titles like Genshin Impact.
There’s currently no word yet on a release date for this game, which means we might see it get released as late as 2024.
