Re:Zero's Rem is the Cutest Anime Character of All Time Based on Japanese Poll

There are lots of cute anime characters, but only one can be called the cutest. And according to a new Japanese poll, Rem from Re:Zero is the cutest anime character of all time.

Recently, a poll was held at Ranking.net to find out who the cutest anime character is, and it featured over 17,000 participants.

The poll allows users to vote for the character they think is the cutest by giving them a score of 1 to 4. Each score corresponds to a certain number of points.

Right now, the results show that the demon maid Rem from Re:Zero is at the top spot. Given the enduring popularity of the show, it’s not a big surprise to see Rem at number one.

The rest of the top 5 consists of three characters from The Quintessential Quintuplets, along with Takagi-san from Teasing Master Takagi-san.

While Rem is the big winner in the poll, all five heroines from The Quintessential Quintuplets also had strong showings, indicating the show’s popularity in Japan.

Not only did Miku, Itsuki, and Nino occupy the 2nd to 4th places, but Ichika and Yotsuba also placed within the top 7.

Other characters in the top 10 are Kaguya Shinomiya, Megumin, and Emilia, all of whom are from popular anime that were released in the past couple of years.

Most of the top 20 are from fairly new shows, except Asuka and Sakura from Evangelion and Cardcaptor Sakura – two shows that aired in the '90s.

While Rem continues to be popular, there’s currently no word yet on a third season for Re:Zero.
