Queen Elizabeth has kicked off the official celebration of her 70 years on the throne. Meanwhile, some warned Prince Harry and Meghan Markle not to take advantage of the event for their personal gains.

Queen Elizabeth Welcomed Prince Harry And Meghan Marle Upon Arrival

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex arrived in the U.K. Wednesday, a day before the Platinum Jubilee. The royal couple was spotted at the London airport with their children and a small team of staffers.

Queen sent a car to pick up Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, their son, Archie, and daughter Lilibet, Page Six reported.

Prince Harry and Markle already announced earlier in May that they would travel to England for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee with their two children.

"Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are excited and honored to attend The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations this June with their children," their spokesperson said in a statement.

Meghan Markle And Prince Harry Warned To Not Use Appalling Tactic Against Queen Elizabeth

Queen Elizabeth is the longest-reigning British monarch. The 96-year-old royal is celebrating an unprecedented achievement, so everyone wants it to be special and to focus on her alone.

However, the Sussexes' attendance raised some eyebrows, with many being worried that they might steal the monarch's thunder.

Commentator Nile Gardiner said Markle "relentlessly thinks about herself." So, he warned the former Suits star to not use the festivities for her own "personal interest." Gardiner even described Markle's tactic as "appalling." He also felt that Prince Harry has the possibility to do the same.

In his personal opinion, both the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been "using their royal status to advance their own personal agenda," especially Markle, considering the reports that they are making a documentary giving a glimpse about their personal lives for Netflix. He added that Markle was allegedly taking advantage of her royal status as "a sort of publicity machine to advance her own personal interests."

Gardiner discouraged both to spare the Queen's celebration.

"I think that it would be absolutely appalling if the Platinum Jubilee celebrations were used by Meghan and Harry to advance their own personal agenda," he told Express. "The Jubilee celebrations are all about celebrating the Queen in her 70 years of service and her life of dedication and Meghan just relentlessly thinks about herself."

Meanwhile, another royal commentator said Prince Harry and Markle will be in a tough situation over the weekend while they are in the U.K. because no matter what they do, the public will always have something to criticize them.

"It's hard to empathise with Harry and Meghan but I do feel like they're in a position where they're damned if they do, damned if they don't," culture reporter Thomas Mitchell told Extra, per Express.
