Next week, the Britons will celebrate the Queen's 70-year anniversary on the throne. The 96-year-old monarch, who has mobility issues, is expected to appear on the balcony with some members of the royal family.

Royal expert Nick Bullen weighed in on what the public could expect in the celebration. According to him, it will be an emotional gathering.

"It’s going to be great," he told Us Weekly. "The image of the queen on the balcony after Trooping the Colour on the first day of the full weekend — I think that will be a very poignant moment."

The Queen canceled her attendance at the State Opening of Parliament earlier this month. Many were concerned when the Queen pulled out from the event. However, she debunked the rumors about her health by showing up at two events that week.

Bullen said there was a "spontaneous applause" when the crowd saw the Queen at the Windsor Horse Show's A Gallop Through History event just days after skipping the opening of Parliament. The public was reportedly "so thrilled" after seeing her.

The True Royalty TV cofounder believed that the milestone anniversary of the Queen will be emotional because many royal fans believed it would be the last time they will see Her Majesty in person. In fact, when they saw her at the last event, they felt the same.

"When she left, there were literally people sobbing around me," Bullen said. "There was almost not a dry eye in the house because I think a lot of people were feeling that this might be the last moment they see the queen in person."

What Will Happen To Queen Elizabeth After The Platinum Jubilee Celebration

The Queen has already started to scale down her calendar in the past months, delegating more jobs to Prince Charle and Prince William. Some royal experts were convinced that her public appearances will be more limited after the jubilee.

Some even speculated that she will abdicate and make Prince Charles the Prince Regent. According to Clive Irving, the founding editor of The Sunday TImes' Insight investigative journalism, the Queen will use the Regency Act, the first stop to abdicating the throne.

"It’s critical to grasp a point that gets easily overlooked because there is so little precedent to guide it: She does not have to die in the saddle, like Victoria, after a rapid decline," Irving told the Daily Beast.

"There is nothing in the protocols to say that. So the sane thing would be to have her abdicate. The use of the Regency Act is the first step towards abdication, which, I suspect, will happen once the Jubilee is over."

The British public has also started to embrace the possibility of having a new monarch and that it's time for the Queen to step down. A recent poll revealed that the majority wanted the Queen to abdicate. However, more prefer Prince William to be the next king over the Prince of Wales.
