Queen Elizabeth and Prince Harry shared a tight and close bond up until Her Majesty’s death. In fact, the Duke of Sussex only had nothing but wonderful things to say to his late grandmother when he paid tribute to her days ago. But there are recent claims that the grandmother and grandson’s relationship wasn’t always pleasant.
Queen Elizabeth Was No Longer Excited To Take Prince Harry’s Phone Calls Due To His Complaints
In his column for Daily Mail, Richard Kay claimed that Prince Harry stayed in touch with Queen Elizabeth after he and Meghan Markle relocated to the United States. In fact, the Duke of Sussex used to always call his grandmother, and she was always thrilled to pick up her grandson’s calls.
However, it didn’t take long before the Queen’s reaction to Prince Harry’s calls changed.
“The Queen’s staff have told me how, in the early days of Harry’s exile in America, the Queen would excitedly take his phone calls. Over time this changed and she later became perplexed by Harry’s complaints,” Kay wrote (via 7news.com.au).

Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Had Issues With Their Children’s Lack Of Security In The UK
According to OK! Magazine, one of these complaints had to do with Prince Harry’s desire to give his family security while they are in the United Kingdom.
During their interview with Oprah Winfrey, Markle talked about her issues with his kids not having security in his hometown.
“They didn’t want Archie to be a prince. And because he wouldn’t have a title, he wasn’t going to receive security. This went on through the last few months of our pregnancy. There is no explanation. There is no version. I heard a lot of it through Harry and other parts of it with conversations with family members, and it was a decision they felt was appropriate. The idea of our son not being safe and the idea of the first member of color in this family not being titled in the same way that other grandchildren would be...” Markle said.
Meghan Markle Requested To Have A Private Conversation With King Charles III
Meanwhile, following the Queen’s death, Prince Harry’s wife has reportedly made an important first step to either assert her rights or fix her relationship with her father-in-law.
According to royal expert Neil Sean, Markle asked to have a private chat with her father-in-law. It’s unclear if this conversation will ever take place since King Charles III is still mourning.
“She’d now like, before they return to California, to have a one-to-one audience with King Charles III. You heard correct. It’s a very brave move from Meghan herself. It would be an opportunity to clear the air, pull the rights from wrongs and explain some of the rationales behind what they’ve been doing for the past two years. Now, you have to admire Meghan’s self-belief, whatever you think,” he said.
