Queen Camilla contracted the coronavirus again. However, some netizens didn't sympathize with her, according to a report.

Queen Camilla Reportedly Mocked After Second COVID-19 Diagnosis

Buckingham Palace announced Monday that the Queen Consort tested positive for COVID-19 and had to cancel the rest of her engagements this week. The announcement was met with mixed responses. Some sympathized with Camilla, while others mocked her.

There were online users who left nasty remarks on social media suggesting that it was down to a sexually transmitted disease, with one posing a question, "royal mistresses usually get syphilis, don't they?" Express reported.

Another user claimed it was a "seasonal illness" such as "whorenorroea," "too much gin and Dubonnet [a wine-based aperatif] after supper," and "mad cow disease." Some poked fun pretended to show sympathy by writing, they "hoped they called a vet or whoever treats horses."

Due to the toxic comments, royal correspondent Richard Palmer shared his thoughts about the issue.

"I'm all for public and media scrutiny of the Royal Family but the debate on all sides has become so toxic now it's a disgrace," he wrote. "The reaction from some on Twitter to Queen Camilla going down with Covid should give many people, including her stepson Prince Harry, food for thought."
