According to the dad of two, things escalated quickly to the point that Princess Diana’s name was dragged into their feud.
Prince Harry Doubted Prince William’s Sincerity When He Told Him He Wanted Him To Be Happy?
In an excerpt for Spare released exclusively by Us Weekly, Prince Harry claimed that Prince William once swore on Princess Diana’s life that he just wanted his younger brother to be happy. However, the statement reportedly stopped Meghan Markle’s husband cold as it was meant to.
According to Prince Harry, he and Prince William never really uttered the words “on Mummy’s life” throughout their lifetime. So, hearing it from his brother came as an utter shock to him.
In fact, the Duke of Sussex didn’t fully trust or believe Prince William’s words when he said that he just wanted him to be happy.
“He saw that we were in a place of such hurt and doubt that even those sacred words couldn’t set us free,” he wrote.

Prince Harry Reportedly Contacted Princess Diana Through An African Medium
Also, in Spare, Prince Harry revealed that he tried contacting Princess Diana with the help of a medium while he and Markle were still dating. The African medium reportedly told Prince Harry that Princess Diana was visiting him right that very moment, and he felt something warm touch his neck.
Princess Diana also told Prince Harry through the medium that she was happy and proud of the life that he was living, according to Marca.
“You’re living the life she couldn’t. You’re living the life she wanted for you. The minute we sat down together, I felt an energy around her,” he wrote.
Prince William And Prince Harry Supported Each Other Following Princess Diana’s Death?
Prior to Prince Harry’s revelations in Spare, it has been common knowledge among royal fans how he and Prince William supported each other following Princess Diana’s death.
In fact, Prince Harry previously admitted that no one understood his loss as much as his older brother because he also went through the same ordeal.
In Diana, Our Mother, Prince Harry detailed what it was like dealing with Princess Diana’s death at such a young age.
“I can’t really, necessarily, remember what I said. But all I do remember is probably, you know, regretting for the rest of my life how short the phone call was. And if I’d known that was the last time I was going to speak to my mother—the things I would have said to her,” he said (via Town & Country).
Prince William echoed his brother’s sentiments at the time by saying that there was nothing like losing a parent at such a young age.
“There really isn’t. It’s like an earthquake has just run through the house and through your life and everything. Your mind is completely split. And it took me a while for it to actually sink in,” he said.
