According to People, Prince William and the royal family want to fan the flames of the rift and dispute surrounding Prince Harry's memoir. And this is why the senior royals did not respond to questions about the Duke of Sussex's book during their recent outings.
"They didn't want to fan the flames of the rift and the dispute. They know that anything said in a statement or a briefing would prolong it. They wanted it to calm down as soon as possible. The longer it goes on, the less hope there is for reconciliation," the source said.

But behind the scenes, Prince William is the one who is most upset following Prince Harry's allegations. After all, Meghan Markle's husband claimed that his brother pushed him to the ground during one of their heated arguments.
The Duke of Sussex also accused Prince William of not supporting his relationship with Markle. And Prince Harry also revealed that he wasn't Prince William's best man on paper because they were never that close.

But right now, all eyes are reportedly on King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla because they are gearing up for their upcoming coronation. There are speculations claiming that King Charles could invite Prince Harry and Markle to the ceremony. However, some critics believe that this isn't a wise move for the monarch.
As for Prince Harry, he told Tom Bradby last month that he is open to attending King Charles' coronation, but he wants the royal family to apologize to his wife first.
"There's a lot that can happen between now and then. But, you know, the door is always open. The ball is in their court. There's a lot to be discussed, and I really hope that they are willing to sit down and talk about it," he said.
But the publication's source said that getting an apology from the royal family wouldn't be a walk in the park for Prince Harry and Markle.
"The problem is that [the Sussexes] want a capitulation and apology by the palace, but when 'recollections vary,' that's quite difficult," the source said.
