Prince William and Prince Harry remain estranged today. But when they were kids, the brothers used to be very close. And when Princess Diana was still alive, she made sure to always give the brothers opportunities to bond just like any other non-royal siblings around the world.

Prince William And Prince Harry Played Video Games At Harrod's Because They Didn't Have One At Home?

Even though Prince William and Prince Harry grew up in the palace and are related to the royal family, they reportedly did not have video games at home. But in order to give them a normal childhood, Princess Diana exposed her sons to different video games when they were together.

According to former BBC royal correspondent Michael Cole, Princess Diana used to take Prince William and Prince Harry to Harrod's to play video games for hours. It was there that the brothers had the opportunity to compete with other children, who didn't seem to have a care in the world that they were members of the British clan.

Princess Diana Enjoyed Taking Prince William And Prince Harry To Harrod's?

Cole also said that Prince William and Prince Harry would spend several hours playing video games at the popular British store. So, it was safe to say that the siblings and Princess Diana knew their way around Harrod's.

"They did love electronic games, and, of course, Harrods always had all of the latest ones. They didn't have them at Kensington Palace, which was only about two miles away, so they would come to the fourth floor — the toy department, the floor for the children — and they would spend hours there. Other children would be competing with them, nobody cared that they were royal princes," he said (via Cheat Sheet).

Prince William And Prince Harry Bonded Over Their Grief Following Princess Diana's Death?

Prince William and Prince Harry did not only bond over playing video games. The brothers also relied on each other following the death of Princess Diana.

During a 2018 interview, Kate Middleton's husband revealed that he and Prince Harry travelled through a difficult path together after their mother died following a tragic car crash in Paris.

"Losing our mother at a young age has kind of helped us sort of travel through that difficult patch together. When you're like-minded, you go through similar things. It's a bond and it's something that, you know, you've tackled it together and come out the other side better for it," he said (via Us Weekly).

Unfortunately, Prince William and Prince Harry grew apart as they got older. Just before the Duke of Sussex quit his royal duties, he hinted at his falling out with the Prince of Wales.

"Part of this role and part of this job, this family, being under the pressure that it's under, inevitably stuff happens. But look, we're brothers, we'll always be brothers. We're certainly on different paths at the moment but I'll always be there for him and as I know he'll always be there for me," Prince Harry said.
