Prince William Snubbing Prince Harry And Meghan Markle On His 40th Birthday?
The Duke of Cambridge was allegedly not pleased after his younger brother and sister-in-law skipped their grandfather Prince Philip's memorial. He was reportedly shocked and appalled that he reconsidered extending an olive branch to the Sussexes.
So, for Prince William's upcoming milestone birthday, he allegedly crossed out the royal couple based in California in his guest list. He decided not to give them the chance to turn down his invitation by not inviting them.
"William still loves Harry – that will never change – but his apparent insensitivity makes him persona non grata at the moment and it will take some miracle for that to change," an unnamed source told Heat World.
"The feeling is that, even if Harry and Meghan decided to come to William’s celebration, and that is a big if, their presence would bring a whole fresh set of problems, and nobody wants that. The sad truth is that William barely recognises, let alone relates to, his younger brother any more."
Kate Middleton's husband was allegedly infuriated after learning that Prince Harry would not attend their grandfather's memorial service but was still heading to the Netherlands for the Invictus Games. The Duke of Sussex even released a new video for Invictus shortly after announcing that he would skip the Duke of Edinburgh's special memorial service.
"Even if his brother were to come to some type of compromise over his security concerns, that won’t change William’s position," the insider added. "The bottom line is that he’s caused untold grief and stress within the royal family and the bad taste it’s left in everyone’s mouth simply isn’t going away anytime soon."
Did Prince William Throw Shade At Prince Harry In Commonwealth Statement After Wrapping Up Caribbean Tour?
There are rumors that Prince William was referring to his younger sibling when he released a statement about the Commonwealth after returning from the Caribbean tour with his wife, Kate Middleton.
In a statement on Instagram, the future king said, he and his wife are "committed to service." He went on and stressed that for them, "that's not telling people what to do. It is about serving and supporting them in whatever way they think best, by using the platform we are lucky to have."
Prince William released the statement to let the Caribbean nations that want to be independent of monarchy that he will support them. After all, in his previous statement, the Duke of Cambridge said, "relationships evolve, friendship endures."
But some felt that the statement was a subtle dig at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. "Is William's comment his job is 'not telling people what to do' a hint to his brother?" royal biographer and commentator Angela Levin asked on Twitter.
Prince Harry and Markle have faced various criticisms for telling people how to live their lives. For instance, they lecture about climate change. However, it backfired when they took private jets during their flights.
