Meghan Markle received criticisms following rumors that she and her husband, Prince Harry, will be presenting a top award at the Oscars. Netizens seemingly mocked her after a royal commentator said that she deserves an Oscar for her performance during her and Prince Harry's interview with Oprah Winfrey last year.

Meghan Markle Deserves An Oscar Mockery On Twitter

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are well-accepted and supported in the United States. There are rumors that the royal couple are being lined-up to present a major award at the Oscars.

Richard Eden, Editor of the Daily Mail Diary, Eden Confidential, and Palace Confidential broadcaster for @mailplus, took to Twitter and wrote, "Some might say #Meghan deserves an Oscar of her own for *that* #Oprah performance."

The tweet received a mixed response, with several netizens mocking the duchess. For them, she indeed deserved an award because she acted well during the interview.

One replied with multiple laughing emojis. Another suggested that Oscar for "Comedy of the year."

"Oscars are for actors, and that she was. She played a wholly fictional character that experienced things that didn’t happen the way she claimed. Bravo," one netizen wrote with clapping hand emoji.

"Is there actually an Award for the Worlds biggest Hypocrite & Liar???" another added.

"Are they 'buying' this privilege, because they seems [sic] to be pretty good at that! Archewell dollars at work again, folks!" a different user commented.

Meghan Markle And Prince Harry's Oscar Involvement, Award Unlikely Some Netizens Claim

Meanwhile, many netizens felt that it's unlikely to happen that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be invited to the ceremony. There are speculations that the news was only a PR stunt for the Sussexes.

"The best actress award is presented by the previous years best actor recipient so I don’t think that part of the story presenting the best actress award was ever true," one netizen shared.

"It’s their Sunshine Sacks PR clickbait. I took the plunge and it basically offers no proof they were invited this year or last, and concludes Harry can’t do this b/c it would look in bad form b/c he can go to this and not Prince Philip's Thanksgiving service. Which is true," another added.

"Don't believe this I believe it's her PR team printing this to try and get them on the Logies," another commented.

"Presenters have already been announced for this year, and they are not on the list," a third wrote debunking the rumors that Prince Harry and Markle are lined up to present a top award at the ceremony.

"I don’t believe this for a second. Previous presenters have been Rita Moreno, Jame Fonda, Warren Beatty, Faye Dunaway, Michelle Obama, Sean Connery, Sidney Poitier, Al Pacino. No way are they in the same league," another added.

Others are also not convinced that Markle deserves an Oscar award.

"She does not deserve an Oscar. She needs a kick up the backside," one critic wrote with a laughing emoji.

"An Oscar? no. a slap? yes," another added.

"Not really. We weren't convinced at all," a third user commented saying no about Markle deserving an Oscar for her interview with Oprah.
