Former royal butler Paul Burrell claimed that Prince William vowed to restore the HRH title of Princess Diana. In his book titled A Royal Duty, the pal of the late Princess of Wales wrote:
"Don’t worry Mummy, I will give it back to you one day when I am King."
Paul Burrell suggested that the conversation between Prince William and the late Princess Diana left the latter in tears. However, the husband of Kate Middleton failed to fulfill his promise after the shocking death of his mother, exactly a year to the day of her divorce from Prince Charles, on Aug. 31, 1997.
For starters, following her fairytale wedding to Prince Charles at Westminster Abbey, Princess Diana became Her Royal Highness The Princess of Wales. However, the Prince and Princess of Wales were reportedly not happy with their marriage that they, allegedly, engaged in extramarital affairs.
Many, if not all, royal followers can recall Princess Diana claimed there were "three of us" in her marriage to Prince Charles. Then, in 1996, the former royal couple divorced and the HRH title of the late Princess Diana was removed.

Prince William And Kate Middleton Support Caribbean Leaders' Decision About Their Future
Meanwhile, Prince William addressed the growing calls for change in the Caribbean as he and wife Kate Middleton ended their week-long tour in the region. Speaking at a black-tie reception in The Bahamas on Friday, the Duke of Cambridge acknowledged that the views of the monarchy have been rapidly shifting in the Caribbean countries where Queen Elizabeth remains the head of state.
During his speech, Prince William said:
"With Jamaica celebrating 60 years of independence this year, and Belize celebrating 40 years of independence last year, I want to say this: We support with pride and respect your decisions about your future. Relationships evolve. Friendship endures."
Earlier this week, Prince William and Kate Middleton were met with a protest over indigenous land rights that forced them to cancel one of their engagements. While in Jamaica, the Cambridge couple also faced calls for reparations and for Queen Elizabeth to be removed as head of state.
Prince William also used his speech to reminisce his memories with the late Princess Diana when they visited The Bahamas during his younger years. The husband of Kate Middleton said:
"I came here with my mother as a child. Snorkeling around the James Bond wrecks off Nassau left me with the most vivid memory of your beautiful blue waters. For a young boy, obsessed with 007, it was the best holiday ever."
Aside from that, Prince William also mentioned his late grandfather, Prince Philip, in his speech.

"I know as well that my grandfather, The Duke of Edinburgh, had a soft spot for The Bahamas. Catherine and I were thinking about him today as we celebrated the return of sloop sailing here by racing off Montagu Beach. He would have been in his element!"
Before ending his talk, Prince William noted that he and Kate Middleton hope to return to the Caribbean region with Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis soon. The Duke of Cambridge added:
"Catherine and I have been delighted to visit you here in The Bahamas this week, and to make so many new friends. Two days is simply not long enough. We'll just have to come back. Not least because our children will be as excited about snorkeling around the James Bond wreck as I was!"
