A viral video made the rounds online during Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's walkabout Saturday. In the clip, Prince Harry opened the car's door for his wife before he entered the vehicle.
Meanwhile, Prince William just let his wife walk toward the other car and enter the vehicle on her own. The heir to the throne turned to the other side of the car to join Middleton.
The sight raised several eyebrows, with many comparing King Charles' two sons. Prince William's lack of chivalry reportedly angered Twitter users, International Business Times reported.
Another report from Sky News has a headline that read," 'Be a Harry not a William': Royal brothers compared in viral social media video with Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton." According to the outlet, the heir to the throne was criticized, while the Duke of Sussex was praised for being a "true king" and "gentleman."
"Harry is such a gentleman. He puts his wife in the car himself," one commented.
"Harry is a gentleman. William however acts like his father," another added.
"Prince Harry, true Diana's son, opened the door for his wife. Prince William, his father's son doesn't. What a gentleman he's!" a third user wrote.
Royal Fans Defend Prince William From Those Who Criticized Him
While many were quick to judge the Prince of Wales, several netizens also took his side. For them, the heir to the throne doesn't have to do what Prince Harry does because he has to follow protocol.
"William is the heir and must follow protocol," one commented. Another added, "M&H do not rate security protocol from UK security team. W & K do. And they both did what they were supposed to. If you don't understand Executive Protection methods and techniques. Y'all should probably just sit down and just enjoy the sunshine."
"Working Royals have strict security protocols to follow when entering and disembarking vehicles. These were followed by the Prince and Princess of Wales. There's no story here, much less a controversy or scandal. Let them mourn without criticizing when you don't know the rules," a third user opined.

Meanwhile, some also claimed that Prince Harry only did it for Markle because the former Suits star allegedly told him to do so.
"Let's be real. He had no intention of opening her door until she pointed it out. Personally, though, I can open my own door. That being said, my husband is welcome to feel chivalrous next time I'm bringing in the groceries," one user claimed.
Prince William and Kate Middleton are not tactile. However, before they parted in the viral video, it was noticeable how the future king gave his wife a subtle tap on the back.
