Prince William reportedly had some frustrations with his late grandmother's decision. Kate Middleton's husband was allegedly not happy when Queen Elizabeth gave Prince Harry and Meghan Markle the highest positions in one of her charities that the new Prince of Wales had his eyes on, according to a new book.

Prince William Frustrated When The Queen Handed Commonwealth Trust To Prince Harry And Meghan?

Katie Nicholl, Vanir Fair's royal editor, claimed in her new book The New Royals that the Duke of Cambridge was eyeing the Queen's Commonwealth Trust (QCT). So, he was reportedly frustrated when the late monarch appointed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as the president and vice president of the organization.

Queen Elizabeth reportedly came up with the decision because she wanted the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to be "included" as working royals. She wanted them o feel special.

"There is an interesting insight on the potential jealousy on William's part over roles for Meghan and Harry - what's that all about?" The Mail's Palace Confidential host Jo Elvin said about the revelation in Nicholl's book.

"She gives a bit of an insight into how much fast-tracking went on to make Meghan and Harry feel special and including before the wedding," Mail on Sunday editor at large Charlotte Griffith added. "Including, making them very senior in the Commonwealth trust. Katie reports that this was a plum role that William quite fancied for himself."

Griffith felt for Prince William. According to her, "I can imagine the frustration William must have been feeling given that they felt so left out."

"All these special measures were being put in place to make them feel really included and yet they're so resentful that they weren't made to feel welcome."

Prince William Will Still End Up With The Role He Wanted?

Although the Queen decided to make Prince Harry and Meghan Markle feel better than the now-heir to the throne, Griffith said that Prince William would still end up with the role he wanted.

Queen Elizabeth already stripped Prince Harry and Markle of their royal patronages and military affiliates after they stepped down from their royal duties in 2021.

Markle hit the ground running when she joined the firm. However, she didn't survive and had to leave less than two years later. Prince William and Kate Middleton have stepped up and taken more roles after the Sussexes left.

"As Katie reports, things were being fast-tracked left, right and centre, even things that William had his eye on," Griffith continued. "Then again, in the end, he'll end up Head of the Commonwealth anyway."

Prince Harry lost his position in the Queen's Commonwealth Trust after he decided to be a non-working royal. However, the charity continued to support his endeavors and even promoted BetterUp, which QCT described as "truly phenomenal."

"Working with BetterUp will make a massive difference for us. Too often young change-makers like those we support have no-one to turn to discuss the challenges they are facing. The demands on the leaders we support are huge, and we know maintaining good mental health is a major challenge for social entrepreneurs," said Chris Kelly, Chief Executive of QCT of the partnership.

"This collaboration with BetterUp means QCT can add this to the package of support we offer our Young Leaders. We look forward to rolling this collaboration out to the QCT community over the course of the next year, as part of the QCT Platinum Jubilee Fund for Young Leaders."
