Prince Harry and his pals were reportedly looking forward to a fun weekend, but Meghan Markle's lack of sense of humor allegedly spoiled their weekend reunion, according to Tom Bower's new book.
Prince Harry Reportedly Did Not Expect Meghan Markle's Reaction During His Reunion With His Pals
British journalist and author Tom Bower, who is popular for numerous biography, including Prince Charles' unauthorized biography The Prince Rebel, is releasing a new book about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. In his new tome titled Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the war between the Windsors, he talked about the various encounters of the Sussexes with the people around them.
One of the things he talked about was the weekend shoot in Sandringham in 2016 with Prince Harry's pals. According to Bower, the royal prince invited his girlfriend since their relationship had already been publicized at the time. He also invited 16 friends, most of them were his old school pals from Eton who were employed by international banks and auction houses.
They reunited for dinner Friday for shooting the following day and lunch Sunday after receiving the Queen's approval.
The Duke of Sussex was reportedly "looking forward" to "endless banter, jokes — and a lot of drinking" with his pals. However, the former Suits star was allegedly less than impressed and even "challenged every guest" who contradicted her "woke values."
"He had not anticipated Meghan's reaction. Their jokes, involving sexism, feminism and transgender people, ricocheted around the living-rooms and dining-rooms," Bower wrote, per Daily Mail.
Meghan Markle Allegedly Clashed And Reprimanded Prince Harry's Guests
Bower claimed that Meghan Markle reprimanded Prince Harry's pals, who made the "slightest inappropriate comment" and excluded no one.
"Without hesitation, Meghan challenged every guest whose conversation contravened her values," Bower continued.
"She lacked any sense of humour. Driving home after Sunday lunch, the texts pinged between the cars: "OMG, what about HER?" said one. "Harry must be f***ing nuts,"' he continued.
She also allegedly clashed with them for the second time during a trip to Jamaica when they attended Tom "Skippy" Inskip's wedding with Lara Hughes-Young in March 2017.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex joined 40 other guests during the three-day nuptial celebrations at the Round Hill Hotel in Montego Bay. According to Bower, Markle
Prince Harry and "party animal" Inskip have been friends since they were pupils in Eton and were inseparable.
Inskip was among Prince Harry's pals when he was photographed nude playing naked pool in Las Vegas and when he jumped into a nightclub swimming pool in Croatia in 2011.
Prince Harry and Markle arrived separately in Jamaica. Prince William's brother reportedly arrived via a "premium economy" from London, while Markle used a "friend's private jet from Toronto."
The British author suggested that Markle wasn't close with her husband's pal and even snubbed them. Bower claimed that Markle "refused to engage with Harry's friends" and instead made remarks about the food.
