Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been earning millions ever since they relocated to the United States. After all, quitting The Firm means that they could accept different jobs and paid partnerships without taking the royal family into consideration. And true enough, shortly after they quit their royal duties, they signed multi-year deals with Netflix and Spotify.
On top of these deals, Prince Harry is also gearing up to release his first memoir. And there are reports that he is going to receive no less than $20 million from his latest venture. Additionally, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex also have other sources of income so it might be safe to predict that they are set for life.
Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Living Beyond Their Means
However, royal expert Daniela Esler recently claimed that Prince Harry and Markle could be dealing with some money problems that the public doesn’t know about. After all, it seems that the couple is selling themselves to the highest TV bidder because this is, reportedly, the only option that they have.
Esler also claimed that Prince Harry and Markle are living beyond their means in order to keep up with their neighbors in Montecito.
“When it comes to the Sussexes’ bank accounts, the issue is that while $46 million (their reported net worth when they moved to California) might be an unthinkable amount of money to you and me, it’s pocket change for the company that the Sussexes now keep. Their neighbor and mate Oprah are worth $4.4 billion, royal wedding guests George and Amal Clooney are worth $340 million, while their Montecito neighbor Katy Perry earned $54.9 million in 2020 alone,” she said (via Cheat Sheet).
Part of the couple’s massive expenses includes their fees for their security team that’s estimated between $1.4 million to $4.7 million. The couple also needs to pay for the upkeep of their Montecito mansion. And every time Markle steps out in public, her critics couldn’t help but notice that she’s always wearing designer clothes and shoes.

Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Rumored To Star In Keeping Up With The Kardashians-Inspired Show
Despite Esler’s worries, for now, Prince Harry and Markle seem to be doing well financially. On top of their projects for Netflix and Spotify, there are also rumors that the couple will be starring in their first docuseries.
Speculations were rife after eagle-eyed royal fans saw the couple being followed by cameramen in New York last September. And there are whispers that the footage that they took of the couple will be included in their Keeping Up With the Kardashians-inspired reality TV show.
Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Won’t Appear In A Reality TV Show For Netflix
However, a spokesperson for Prince Harry and Markle already confirmed in 2020 that the couple wouldn’t appear in a reality TV show for Netflix. At the time, The Sun claimed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would star in a reality TV show about their philanthropy. And this would allegedly be the perfect opportunity for Markle to show the world who she really is.
But it didn’t take long before the spokesperson shut down the rumors and said that Prince Harry and Markle won’t star in a reality TV show.
“The Duke and Duchess are not taking part in any reality shows,” the spokesperson told The Los Angeles Times.
