Prince Charles Invited Prince Harry And Meghan Markle To Stay In Balmoral During Their UK Visit

A royal insider recently claimed that Prince Charles has been exerting efforts to repair his relationship with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, but he hasn’t been successful.

“He hasn’t wavered, despite the attacks, which seem to be coming with increased vigor. The Prince of Wales reiterated his invitation for Harry and Meghan, and the whole family if they wished, to come and stay with him this summer while he is at his home on the Balmoral estate. He thought it might be a good opportunity for everyone to take stock and relax, but the invitation was declined,” the source said (via Express).

Meghan Markle Confirms Prince Harry Has A Strained Relationship With Prince Charles

Just days before the Duke and Duchess of Sussex flew to the UK, Markle spoke with The Cut. During the interview, she shed light on Prince Harry’s broken relationship with his dad.

“Harry said to me, ‘I lost my dad in this process.’ It doesn’t have to be the same for them as it was for me, but that’s his decision,” Markle said.

The Suits alum was also referencing her strained relationship with her dad, Thomas Markle Sr.

After her interview was released, royal author Omid Scobie explained what Markle was trying to say.

“I understand that Prince Harry is referring to Meghan’s loss of her own father, and Meghan is saying she doesn’t want Harry to lose him,” he said.

Prince Harry Accused Of Destroying His Relationship With Prince Charles

However, royal editor Russell Myers said that Markle’s words were clear, and the quotes published by the magazine weren’t edited.

“The Cut has not changed the content of the copy on their website, so I think read into that what you will. The very fact that Meghan says this quote, [‘Harry said to me, “I lost my dad in this process…’ anyone who would tell you how the Prince of Wales loves his sons would say he loves both of sons equally. I know for a fact that he [Charles] has offered them [Harry and Meghan] a place to stay, he has produced an olive branch to them, he has wanted to bring them close, he has tried to make instances to see them and I just think it’s being thrown back in his face. It seems as though Meghan has a completely unfortunate and destructive relationship with her own father. But it just seems particularly sad that Harry is, by his own accord or through conversations with his wife, going down that route,” he said.

Myers also accused Prince Harry of destroying his relationship with Prince Charles because of how he feels and without regard for Princess Diana’s 25th death anniversary.
