Prince Charles reportedly has a soft spot for his daughter-in-law, Meghan Markle. Before Prince Harry and Markle quit The Firm two years ago, Prince Charles and Markle were photographed chatting happily with each other on multiple occasions. In fact, Prince Charles was also very nice towards Markle’s mom, Doria Ragland. During her royal wedding, Prince Charles escorted Ragland on their way out of St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.
So, it was a huge shock when Prince Harry and Markle claimed that a certain member of the royal family had qualms about Archie’s skin color. The Sussexes didn’t reveal the identity of the royal, but sources claimed that they were referring to Prince Charles.
The heir to the throne allegedly asked his wife, Camilla Parker Bowles, over breakfast the rhetorical question and someone from the palace told the Sussexes about it. However, the source claimed that Prince Charles didn’t mean any harm with what he said.
Prince Charles Adores Meghan Markle?
In the documentary, Harry & Meghan Vs The Monarchy, royal commentator Ashley Pearson revealed that Prince Charles always adored Markle. In fact, the dad of two welcomed the Duchess of Sussex into the royal family just like his own daughter.
Pearson also said that Prince Charles adored Markle even more than his love for Kate Middleton when the latter was first introduced as Prince William’s girlfriend.
“She was welcomed as a daughter, even more so than Kate Middleton was at the very beginning,” Pearson said.

Prince Charles, Meghan Markle First Meeting Revisited
Royal correspondent Jennie Bond also talked about Prince Charles and Markle’s first meeting. She said that it’s highly likely for the Duchess of Sussex to have left a mark on her father-in-law at the time.
“Meeting your in-laws is always a bit of an ordeal, isn’t it? And meeting your in-laws, when one is going to be a future king, meeting Prince Charles, must have been quite tough for Meghan or a little bit daunting, but she is a strong woman. She probably marched in there and just got on famously because she’s a woman with lots of opinions, lots of views, and a confident woman. And those are the kind of attributes that Charles likes,” Bond said.
Prince Charles Wants A Slimmed-Down Monarchy?
According to Express, Prince Charles has always wanted to have a slimmed-down monarchy. But if Prince Harry and Markle didn’t quit The Firm, he would’ve relied on them more. And they would’ve been a great addition to the British monarchy.
As of press writing, it’s unclear if Prince Charles still gets to talk to Markle. But months ago, sources revealed that Prince Charles and Prince Harry have started talking to each other again.
Even though the Sussexes made some strong allegations against Prince Charles and the royal family in the past, eagle-eyed royal fans saw that they are still very much loved members of the British clan.
Prince Charles Puts Meghan Markle’s Photo On Display At Clarence House
During an event to commemorate International Women’s Day, royal fans saw a photo of Prince Charles walking Markle down the aisle on her wedding day in 2018.
The photo was placed on top of a table alongside pictures of Prince Harry, Prince William, Kate Middleton, and their children, and a photo of Prince Charles with one of his grandchildren.
According to reports, the photo display hints at where the Sussexes’ relationship with Prince Charles is. And it’s only a matter of time before everyone reconciles.
