Prince Charles’ health has been at the center of public scrutiny especially since he was recently photographed with swollen hands and feet. At one point, his “chronic condition” was dubbed as embarrassing by one publication.

While speaking with Express, doctor Ioannis Liakas, medical director at Vie Aesthetics in London said that Prince Charles has a condition called rosacea. These skin flare-ups make the future king appear very rosy in the face.

The condition reportedly affects one in 10 in the United Kingdom. And if it’s left untreated, it could result in more serious illnesses.

“Flushed or red skin comes as a result of blood vessels opening and blood rushing to the surface. This can be due to a number of reasons including overheating, feeling anxious or embarrassed, from drinking alcohol or from skin conditions like rosacea,” the doctor explained.

New Idea, in its Dec. 6 issue, mentioned Prince Charles’ possible health condition and said that all the stresses that he’s been going through in recent years are finally catching up to him.

“Charles hasn’t enjoyed a lifetime of good health and is prone to issues related to stress. So, it comes as no surprise, after a year of never-ending problems within his family, that some eyewitnesses reported Charles looked wobbly on his feet during a recent trip to Jordan and Egypt,” the publication claimed.

Camilla, who was with Prince Charles during their trip, had to reportedly help her husband so that the latter wouldn’t fall.

“Charles is no spring chicken anymore. The global travel takes its toll on him – not to mention all the problems back at the palace,” the unnamed source said.

One of the things that have been causing Prince Charles stress is the new documentary, The Princes and the Press. The BBC documentary focuses on the royal family’s difficult relationship with the media.

In the documentary, it was also revealed that the different royal households are very competitive when it comes to press coverage.

Sky News reporter Rhiannon Mills said that when he interviews Prince Charles, the future king refuses to share information about what Prince William and Prince Harry might be working on. After all, the heir to the throne wants to focus on his endeavors.

The documentary also claimed that Markle’s arrival eclipsed Prince William’s popularity, and this did not sit well with the second in line to the throne and his wife, Kate Middleton.

“They might be family but there’s a lot of jealousy there. Harry might claim he hates the press, but he has to admit he enjoyed lording it over William, given he’s grown up being the spare to the heir,” the unnamed source said.

Additionally, Prince Charles is also stressed and worried because of Queen Elizabeth’s recent health scare. And the fact that he needs to take on more royal duties and engagements has also taken a toll on him.

According to the source, the dad of two couldn’t help but call the queen on the phone as often as possible to the point that it has already irked the monarch. Her Majesty had to allegedly tell her staff to not give her the phone when it’s Prince Charles on the line.

“Charles is a sensitive man who has always taken things too seriously and personally and it’s really starting to reflect on his health. It’s hard to imagine how he can possibly go on like this with the workload taking its toll on Charles before his accession to the throne – something has to change,” the unnamed source concluded.

However, the only thing that royal fans should be worried about right now is the queen’s health. Prince Charles previously said that things are not the same now that he’s 73, but things are even more difficult for Her Majesty who’s already 95 years old.

“She's alright, thank you very much. Once you get to 95, it's not quite as easy as it used to be. It's bad enough at 73,” he said via Sky News.
