After the Water Festival update and events for Pokemon Go, fans may once again be feeling the lull that follows a slight raise in excitement for the game.
But instead of minor teasers it is highly possible that Niantic Labs may actually be gearing up for a rather major addition to the game. For starters, Niantic has not only acknowledged how far Pokemon Go has achieved in terms of download numbers, but there's also that teaser at the end for possible co-op play:
"With spring arriving in the northern hemisphere, players can look forward to all-new cooperative social gameplay experiences in Pokemon Go that will give Trainers new and exciting reasons to get back into the sunshine."
Multiplayer will indeed be a gamechanger, if only to provide a new mechanic for the way teams will work in real life. It's been a while since teams and their Team Leaders had any form of actual use besides the Gyms, so if this pushes through, then we might see a bigger surge in players beyond what events have been able to reel back in.
If that's not enough of an addition, dataminers over at The Silph Road managed to find some new texts that could be pertaining to Gym changes. These started as random text fixes, however, the exploration unearthed lines that suggest changes when it comes ‘mons related to the Battle grounds.
The new mechanics aren't just for show or for notification, however. It appears that leaving a mon in a Gym is not the only way to rule. If anything, It's possible that Pokemon Go players will need to pay more attention to their mons to ensure that they can battle to be the best.
What's more, raids have been mentioned in the minor text fixes how exactly raids will affect the gameplay for now will have to be decided. Until then, best to get the Gen 2 ‘mons in your area.
