Pokemon Go Made A Lot of Money in 2017

Pokemon Go isn't as big as it used to be but it still made a lot of money in 2017.

According to the market analysis firm SuperDataResearch,Pokemon Go's estimated revenue in 2017 is $890 million dollars, making it the ninth highest-earning mobile game of the year. That's still a whopping lot of money even if it's less than Pokemon Go's $950 million earnings in 2016 but that only six months after the game was released. Niantic CEO John Hanke said that last year was all about finding a stable user base and keeping it happy.

The Top 10 mobile games of 2017 according to SuperDataResearch are:

1. Honour of Kings
2. Fantasy Westward Journey
3. Monster Strike
4. Clash Royale
5. Lineage M
6. Candy Crush Saga
7. Clash of Clans
8. Fate/Grand Order
9. Pokemon GO
10. King of Chaos

Pokemon Go now has more features that make money such as Raid Passes, which would let players join in community battles against power Pokemon. It's currently the only way a player can capture a legendary Pokemon, which are only available for a limited amount of time.

Niantic will continue to rake more money with Pokemon Go this year, and the developer is also releasing a Harry Potter augmented reality game, so that will probably add a significant amount of money.
