Pokemon GO Increases Security Against Third-Party Apps

Pokemon GO continues its battle against third-party apps, with numerous IV trackers confirming that a number of bot accounts were taken down. The developers use these bots to perform specific tasks for their third-party apps, with Niantic always finding ways to retaliate. It's been a mixed bag for players that enjoy the mobile game, since the apps let them know which monsters have the best stats.

According to Pokemon GO Hub, Niantic released a new powerful security update that specifically targets these third-party apps. Seems like the update has been an effective one, since it flags accounts aggressively, to the point that the bots get shadow banned or have their IPs tainted. Only time will tell if third-party apps are able to find a way around this like they have in the past.

What will annoy players is that the new security update does not GPS spoofers, the worst cheaters in the game. This let's certain players go to certain gyms without leaving their homes, which has been annoying for fans that still enjoy the game. While Niantic's battle against these third-party apps is understandable, fans are hoping they target GPS spoofers as well.

Despite losing some momentum, Pokemon GO is still a pretty popular mobile title. The mobile game finally played host to a few events with legendary monsters, something fans have been waiting a long time for. The game is free to download on iOS and Android devices.
