Overwatch is Free to Play This Weekend

Have you been seeing all the hype about a certain hacker named Sombra, but don't know how to get into the Overwatch game?

This weekend, Blizzard is making it easier, as it announces a free-play weekend to check out how it feels like to be one of the Overwatch heroes.

Announced over the Overwatch blog, the developer confirmed that the game will be available for free from Nov. 18 to 21. You can choose to play the Overwatch Free Weekend on the PC, PS4 or Xbox One.

"For this free weekend, we're making Overwatch's full roster of 22 heroes and 13 maps available for play in a variety of modes, including Quick Play, Custom Games, and the latest Weekly Brawl. Players will also have the ability to level up, earn Loot Boxes, and unlock a variety of different customization options."

Those who do decide to get the game in full once the weekend is over can carry over their progress to the official game. To do this, you should use the same Battle.net, Sony Entertainment account or Xbox Live account that you used during the free-play weekend.

You should also make sure to have your respective memberships to the console's networks to access online multiplayer events like this. With that, you no longer need any special keys or sign-up codes to participate.

Other features in Overwatch that can be accessed during the free weekend include the following:

> Four game modes, Assault, Escort, Assault/Escort Hybrid, Control with 13 maps
> All game modes and maps supporting 12 players in 6v6 fights
> 4 play modes, like Quick Play, Play vs. AI, Custom Game, and Weekly Brawl

While there are a handful of nice features accessible, players should note that trophies and achievements have been disabled during this free weekend. Also, cross-platform play will not be available.
