Overwatch 2 Reveals One-Punch Man Tatsumaki Skin for Kiriko

Overwatch 2 Kiriko Tatsumaki

Following the crossover’s teaser during the Season 3 reveal, Blizzard unveiled the upcoming One-Punch Man Tatsumaki skin for Kiriko in Overwatch 2.

This is the second skin in the collab that was shared after Doomfist’s Saitama outfit.

Details about it were shared recently on Xbox Wire, including its price and availability information.

Given that this is the first collab of its kind for Overwatch, Blizzard has been slowly teasing it ahead of the official release.

Along with skins, more One-Punch Man-themed content is expected to be part of the crossover.

Unlike other shooters like Fortnite, Overwatch hasn’t had any major anime collaborations. The only real crossover of note was the 2019 LEGO Bastion skin.

With Overwatch 2’s release a few months ago though, it looks like Blizzard will start doing more collaborations with hit properties. The first is this upcoming One-Punch Man crossover.

While Overwatch x One-Punch Man is an unexpected crossover, Blizzard mentioned that they believe it’s a perfect match given that many players of the game are also big anime fans.

Because of this, One-Punch Man was selected, which is not surprising given the series’ popularity.

It also helps that the anime is no stranger to games as there are several games in its franchise.

During the Overwatch 2 Season 3 teaser, fans were given a first look at the upcoming Doomfist skin which dresses him up in Saitama’s yellow and red hero outfit.

While no details have been revealed yet for the skin, what we can say for certain is that Doomfist still won’t be able to take down foes with just one punch even with the skin on.

The next skin to be revealed in the collab is a Tatsumaki Terrible Tornado Legendary for Kiriko. This skin will be available as part of a bundle that will be priced at 2,100 coins (worth around USD 20).

Kiriko was chosen because she doesn’t have a lot of Legendary skins yet. Her silhouette is also a close match to Tatsumaki, meaning the Terrible Tornado outfit didn’t have to be changed too much for her.

What’s also interesting is that, according to Blizzard, these skins aren’t meant to transform the heroes into One-Punch Man characters, as is the case with other anime and game collabs.

Instead, the Overwatch heroes are cosplaying the One-Punch Man characters in these skins. Basically, this confirms that the anime exists in the game’s universe.

For now, there’s no word yet on when the collaboration will be released, though Blizzard promised that more details will be revealed soon.
