Outlander Season 6: ClaIre Fraser Expected to Meet More Time Travellers

Outlander Season 6 will only have a total of eight episodes, with a longer run promised for the seventh season. Despite its shorter run starting this March, Starz promises a lot of action, romance, and drama as the American Revolutionary War approaches. Episode titles have also been revealed, teasing the conflicts that Jaime (played by Sam Heughan) and Claire Fraser (Caitriona Balfe) will have to face.

Fans of the historical drama may have noticed that the title of the final episode of Season 6 is I Am Not Alone. As pointed out by Express.co.uk, this could hint various storylines that readers of Diana Gabaldon's Outlander book series may be familiar with, but it also suggests that Claire will encounter other time travellers who are stranded in the 18th Century.

In the Season 5 finale, Claire was surprised to meet Wendigo Donner (Brennan Martin) when she was kidnapped by Lionel Brown (Ned Dennehey) and his gang.

Claire asked Wendigo to help her to get to safety but not wanting to draw attention, he refused to become an ally.

For those unfamiliar, Wendigo was a member of the Montauk Five, a group of five Native Americans who travelled through the stones from 1968. They wanted to save their ancestors, which included Otter Tooth, who viewers learned about in Season 4. Claire saw the ghost of Otter Tooth before meeting the Mohawk tribe and learning he had lived with them before. When he began to cause conflict in the group, he was exiled from the tribe but his decision to return led to him being killed.

The Montauk Five wanted to convince the Native American tribes to side with the British during the Revolutionary War but Otter did not agree with their mission. Otter Tooth travelled back 50 years further so he could join a tribe and convince them to work against the British.

Fans of the book series will know that Wendigo doesn't show up until A Breath of Snow and Ashes, when he's mentioned in Otter Tooth's dairy, which Young Ian (John Bell) now holds.

Outlander Season 6 will be based on Diana Gabaldon's sixth novel of her bestselling Outlander book series, A Breath of Snow and Ashes. According to Starz, Outlander Season 6 “sees a continuation of Claire and Jamie’s fight to protect those they love, as they navigate the trials and tribulations of life in colonial America. Establishing a home in the New World is by no means an easy task, particularly in the wild backcountry of North Carolina — and perhaps most significantly — during a period of dramatic political upheaval. The Frasers strive to maintain peace and flourish within a society which, as Claire knows all too well, is unwittingly marching towards Revolution. Against this backdrop, which heralds the birth of the new American nation, Claire and Jamie have built a home together at Fraser’s Ridge.”

Outlander Season 6 is set to premiere on Sunday, March 6, on Starz. For more details, check out everything we know about Outlander Season 6 here. If you're wondering where to watch the previous seasons of Outlander before the new season comes out, check out our guide here.
