Outlander Season 6: Bree and Roger's Story is 'Sort of Starting All Over Again" as They're Forced to Settle in the Past

Outlander Season 6 will continue the romantic story of Claire (played by Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan), a couple brought together through the fabric of time itself after Claire touches the magic stones in the highlands of Scotland, but they're not the only couple who are trying to navigate the trials and tribulations of life in colonial America. Their daughter Brianna (Sophie Skelton) and her husband Roger ( Richard Rankin) were shocked to find themselves right back where they came from when they tried to return to the 20th Century at the end of Outlander Season 5.

Ahead of the Season 6 premiere next month, Sophie has shared more details about their new life with Claire and Jamie in Fraser's Ridge. At the end of Season 5, the time-traveling couple tried to return through the stones to their home in the 1960s, but the magical gateway landed them right back where they left off, and they realized that their real home was with Bree's mother in America. When Brianna and Roger returns to the Ridge, they will have to start a new life yet again.

In a new behind-the-scenes look at Outlander Season 6 (via Express), Sophie reveals what fans can expect when the series returns with Bree and Roger in early March.

The Revolutionary War may be upon them, but Bree and Claire's struggles in Season 6 will be much more personal.

"Season six really does pick up for Brianna personally,” Sophie said. “In the way of very much keeping a close eye on her mother but not in a way where she feels sort of suffocated by Brianna’s care.”

She added: “Brianna has huge empathy for what Claire’s going through, and she can recognize little signs that maybe other people can’t.”

However, Bree is still not entirely sure if Fraser’s Ridge in the 18th Century is exactly where she and Roger belong.

“But as a couple as well, Roger and Bree, again are just sort of resetting back into the Ridge, after trying to leave in season five, but realising this is their home," Sophie explained.

The young couple will have to learn how to fully settle a life on Fraser's Ridge and start a family of their own.

“Their story is sort of starting all over again,” Sophie said. “Their story is sort of starting all over again,” she said “Now that they’ve made their peace in this century, I think it’s very much like going back to chapter one and living life as a family really.”
