With the second episode set to release today, a new interview of Oshi no Ko Ruby voice actress Yurie Igoma was released, where she revealed some of the moments in the anime that made her cry.

It’s fair to say that the first episode was quite a tear-jerker for many viewers, and it is much more so for Igoma given that she is involved in the series.

Surprisingly though, while Igoma did a great job as Ruby, this is only her first anime role ever.

The show’s voice cast features several big-name voice actresses, including the likes of Rie Takahashi as Ai Hoshino and Megumi Han as Kana Arima.

Though for the main duo of Aquamarine and Ruby, the staff went with lesser-known voice actors.

Specifically, Aqua is voiced by Takeo Otsuka, the more experienced of the two as he has acted in several shows in the past years.

As for Yurie Igoma, Ruby is not only her first major role, but it is also her first role in any anime production.

In her interview with Cinema Today, Igoma said that this is the first time in her life that she got a role in an anime audition.

This was perfect for her as she really wanted to play Ruby as she’s a big fan of the manga.

Even before the audition was announced, Igoma said that she was already a big fan of Oshi no Ko.

She deems it a “deep and complicated work.” Because of this, Igoma was so excited about the audition when it opened that she couldn’t sleep.

Aside from the fact that this is her first anime role, Igoma was also moved to tears during several parts of the production.

She specifically mentioned the scene where Ruby was dancing with Sarina. This scene was recorded by Igoma alongside Sarina’s VA Tomoyo Takayanagi.

Once she saw the finished product, Igoma was moved to tears by how well the anime was able to deliver the scene’s emotional quality.

Along with this scene, Igoma also mentioned that she couldn’t stop crying after watching the first episode’s cinema premiere.

She remarked that she is incredibly happy to be part of this work.

You’ll hear more of Igoma as Ruby in the next Oshi no Ko episode which will be released today.
