While his ongoing work Oshi no Ko is getting a lot of buzz, Kaguya-sama: Love Is War creator Aka Akasaka is about to debut his new manga later this month.
Specifically, this new manga is illustrated by Nishizawa 5mm who revealed the upcoming manga via her official Twitter account.
While there’s not a lot of info yet, the announcement came with a special visual that gives fans their first possible look at the new manga’s main character.
Aka Akasaka Teams Up With New Manga Artist
Aka Akasaka is one of the most popular and praised manga creators working today.
While his first major works include Sayonara Piano Sonata and Ib: Instant Bullet, he gained renown for Kaguya-sama: Love Is War.
It’s fair to say that Kaguya-sama became a huge hit. After all, it reached over 22 million copies in circulation as of December 2022.
Following that series’ end though, Akasaka revealed that he is officially retiring as a manga illustrator.
Instead, he will purely focus on writing manga.
This has been the case with Akasaka in his other popular work Oshi no Ko.
Instead of him overseeing illustration, Mengo Yokoyari (of Scum’s Wish fame) is handling illustration duties for the series.
The writer and illustrator split isn’t new for manga. After all, there have been many popular manga-creator duos over the years.
Now, Akasaka has another partnership, this time with Nishizawa 5mm who has published several manga, though she is best known for her work with Hololive.

New Manga 'Renai Daiko' to Begin Serialization Soon
Nishizawa 5mm has made a name for herself working with the VTuber agency Hololive.
She is the character designer of Momosuzu Nene along with other Hololive projects.
Now, the illustrator is about to begin an exciting new series with one of the most acclaimed contemporary manga creators.
Their new manga is titled Renai Daiko (Love Agency in English).
The new visual for the manga features what seems to be the main character.
While there’s no word yet on its story, it may have a romantic element to it.
Renai Daiko is set to begin serialization in Weekly Young Jump on April 27, 2023.
Given that Kaguya-sama and Oshi no Ko were released on Manga Plus, this series may also be released worldwide on Manga Plus soon.
