Onew emotionally opened up about his parents and their impact on his life as a person and an idol.
As the only child of the family, Onew surely got his parents’ love and attention alone. They also became their greatest supporters when he first became interested in music after learning how to play the piano.
Onew managed to expand his career with the support of his parents. Following his debut with SHINee in 2008, he already became an actor, soloist, philanthropist, and stage actor, among others.
As he shared his new album with his fans, he opened up about the best characteristics he has and his positive influence because of his parents.

Onew’s Parents Inspire K-pop Idol To Do Good
Onew recently had a discussion with Marie Claire and shared further details about the positive influence he is trying to promote. According to the K-pop star, his parents made him have the desire to give and love more.
The Blue singer said that he still feels shy to say that he loves his parents despite the fact that they are the ones whom he shares everything with through ups and downs. With that, he pushed himself to at least act and show them how much they mean to him.

Since his parents are getting older, he reportedly began thinking that he would not be able to live forever with his parents.
“At first, I was also just like, ‘I should go home often.’ Then it became, ‘I should go home and eat with my parents,’ and after that, ‘I should make them a meal myself, we should go to karaoke after eating.’ Like this, I gradually ended up doing more things,” he said.
SHINee’s Onew on Being Happy
As one of the best-selling artists, Onew constantly strives to offer the best to his fans. But whenever he sees his standards, he suddenly feels he is not doing enough.
For instance, he reportedly feels a gap whenever he sings, revealing that he never felt fully satisfied with his own performance.
But eventually, Onew realized that he has been doing well since the beginning.
“In the past I even thought, this is the extent of my talent and I cannot improve from here. But from a certain moment, I realized that I started as SHINee in order to sing and that singing was what I enjoyed the most,” he went on.
By becoming happier, it means that he has to improve but still feel satisfied with his singing. Onew’s parents play a huge role in transforming his music into a positive influence especially now that the world is still struggling because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
With Onew’s new album, the K-pop idol is now hopeful that his music will help people to love others more and be kinder to everybody else.
