LOONA did better during their stage performance on Queendom 2 compared to what they showed in their dance practice video.

During the latest episodes of Queendom 2, the contestants swapped songs with others as part of their cover battle. The six artists were divided into three pairs and were asked to perform reinterpretations of the other group’s original songs.

WJSN swapped songs with VIVIZ (GFRIEND), while LOONA and Brave Girls exchanged with SISTAR’s Hyolyn and Kep1er, respectively.

Before the new episode of Queendom 2 comes out, LOONA already made history after covering SISTAR’s Shake It.

LOONA Makes New Record With SISTAR’s Shake It

On Tuesday, Billboard confirmed that LOONA’s recent cover of Shake It officially debuted on its World Digital Song Sales chart at No. 1. The chart collected the data for the week ending on April 30.

Aside from ranking first on the chart, LOONA’s Shake It also made history as it became the franchise’s first song to top Billboard. For what it’s worth, several artists already joined Queendom, Kingdom: Legendary War, and Road to Kingdom, but only the girl group achieved the feat.

Although it became the first song from the program to top Billboard, LOONA already got their first No. 1 on the World Digital Song Sales chart in December 2019 with 365.

On top of these, the same song cover reached the No. 1 spot on seven regions’ iTunes Top Songs charts. Even Cardi B praised LOONA for the rendition, saying that she likes the performance.

SISTAR’s Hyolyn Also Impressed Fans

Even the original singer of Shake It managed to impress fans during Queendom 2’s second battle.

On April 21, Hyolyn ranked first in the second battle, earning a perfect score and beating the other contestants. She got a 10,000 score, with LOONA (6,432), Cosmic Girls (5,397), VIVIZ (4,433), Kep1er (4,031), and Brave Girls (2,961) secured the next places, respectively.

Fans approved of Hyolyn’s perfect score, especially since the K-pop star showed an outstanding performance. However, they called out Queendom 2 over Brave Girls’ low score despite their commendable performance.

The program has not commented on the matter yet, but fans expect a more intense battle in the next few episodes.
