The Netflix and Wit Studio One Piece remake project got lots of attention at Jump Festa 2024, but that’s not the only news revealed at the event. There, the One Piece Egghead Arc cast members were shared, which includes the iconic VA Aya Hirano as one of the big new characters.
At the Jump Festa 2024 One Piece stage, new details about the anime’s next arc were shared, including the new opening and ending themes.
For many, the highlight reveal is no doubt Aya Hirano, who will finally join the long-running series.
Iconic VA Aya Hirano to Star in the One Piece Egghead Arc
Aya Hirano is an icon of the 2000s among anime fans. This is because she is the voice of many beloved characters from that decade, including Haruhi in The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and Lucy in Fairy Tail.
Even though she has been more active as a theater actress lately, Hirano still gets cast in some anime.
Now, Hirano’s latest role is Lilith in One Piece. This new role is significant as Lilith is a major player in the upcoming arc, as shown in the arc’s teaser visual and trailer.
Along with the reveal of Hirano’s big new role, the Egghead Arc’s new theme songs were also shared. The new opening theme is titled A--su! by Hiroshi Kitadani, the notable singer of One Piece’s first-ever opening.
Meanwhile, the arc’s new ending is titled Dear Sunrise by Maki Otsuki, another One Piece veteran. Otsuki is the singer of the anime’s first ending theme titled Memories.

One Piece Reveals Complete Vegapunk Voice Cast Members
Lilith will be the first major new character to be introduced in the upcoming arc. Despite this, the rest of the anime’s new cast members were also revealed. They include:
- Yohei Tadano (Kudo in Great Pretender) as Dr. Vegapunk
- Shuhei Sakaguchi (Doranbolt in Fairy Tail) as Shaka
- Ryoko Shiraishi (Hikage in Senran Kagura) as Edison
- Tokuyoshi Kawashima (Naomasa Tsukauchi in My Hero Academia) as Pythagoras
- Kaede Hondo (Eiko Tsukimi in Ya Boy Kongming!) as Atlas
- Mutsumi Tamura (Kobayashi in Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid) as York
One Piece’s next arc in the anime is a highly anticipated one. Aside from being the first new story arc in years (given the length of the Wano Country Arc), the Egghead Arc also promises lots of big story reveals.
The anime’s next arc will premiere on January 7, 2024.
