One Piece: First Look at Mackenyu's Zoro Revealed During Knights of the Zodiac SDCC Panel

Mackenyu is possibly one of the busiest actors in Hollywood today. The star of Fullmetal Alchemist: Final Chapter - The Avenger Scar could not attend the Knights of the Zodiac panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2022. However, Mackenyu recorded a video for the panel and has somehow revealed our first look at Roronoa Zoro in Netflix's One Piece live-action series!

Knights of the Zodiac returned to SDCC this year with most of the cast and crew of the live-action film adaptation of Masami Kurumada's Saint Seiya manga series. Mackenyu, who plays protagonist Seiya, was not in attendance but the Pacific Rim: Uprising actor recorded a special video for fans where he confirms he is currently in Cape Town working on another project.

That other project is, of course, the live-action One Piece series where Mackenyu had been cast as Roronoa Zoro. Interestingly, there haven't been any images of Mackenyu while filming for the new show so the special video shared during the Knights of the Zodiac SDCC 2022 panel was a great surprise.

Since the video has been shared on social media, fans have been getting excited about the One Piece series. After all, it appears that Mackenyu had dyed his hair a dark green to play Zoro. However, there is also a possibility that it is just a trick of the light or that someone had used a filter on the video.

The One Piece series will also star Iñaki Godoy as Luffy, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji as the main Straw Hats crew. The series will also feature Morgan Davies as Koby, Ilia Isorelýs Paulino as Alvida, Aidan Scott as Helmeppo, McKinley Belcher III as Arlong, Vincent Regan as Garp, Alexander Maniatis as Klahadore, Steven Ward as Mihawk, Peter Gadiot as Red-Haired Shanks, Craig Fairbrass as Chef Zeff, Langley Kirkwood as Captain Morgan, Celeste Loots as Kaya, and Chioma Umeala as Nojiko.

Knights of the Zodiac is scheduled for release in 2023.
