Fullmetal Alchemist Movie Casts One Piece's Mackenyu as Scar

It's set to be an awesome and exciting year for Mackenyu Arata. The star of Netflix's One Piece live-action series has just been confirmed to play Scar in the two-part Fullmetal Alchemist sequel!

It was previously confirmed that the live-action Fullmetal Alchemist movies are getting a two-part sequel later this year. The first film Fullmetal Alchemist: Final Chapter - The Avenger Scar (Hagane no Renkinjutsushi: Kanketsu-hen - Fukushusha Scar) will introduce the Scarred Man as he faces off against Edward Elric. Fullmetal Alchemist: Final Chapter - The Last Transmutation (Hagane no Renkinjutsushi: Kanketsu-hen - Saigo no Rensei) will adapt the manga's final battle.

The Fullmetal Alchemist films will bring back the cast of the 2017 movie and they will be joined by new actors including Mackenyu Arata, who will take on the role of Scar. The trailer for the two-part sequel feature the Pacific Rim: Uprising star in action as the Scarred Man takes on Edward. Check out Scar's awesome poster below.

This isn't the first time that Mackenyu is playing on a truly memorable shonen manga character. He portrayed Okuyasu Nijimura in Takashi Miike's JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakable Chapter I and the final antagonist Enishi Yukishiro in Rurouni Kenshin: The Final. Mackenyu is currently working on Netflix's One Piece series where he will play Roronoa Zoro and will immediately begin working on the live-action Saint Seiya movie Knights of the Zodiac where he has been cast as Pegasus Seiya.

The Fullmetal Alchemist films will bring back Ryosuke Yamada as Edward Elric, Atomu Mizuishi as Alphonse Elric, Tsubasa Honda, as Winry Rockbell, and Dean Fujioka as Roy Mustang. New cast members are listed below:

Fullmetal Alchemist: Final Chapter - The Avenger Scar will premiere in Japan on May 20, 2022. Fullmetal Alchemist: Final Chapter - The Last Transmutation is scheduled for release on June 24, 2022.
