The new One Piece Film: RED trailer is finally here!
One Piece Film: RED had previously promised a new teaser being dropped after the character posters were shared on the movie's official Twitter account. Now, the trailer has revealed the first footage from the highly anticipated anime flick!
The trailer opens with Red Haired Shanks with a younger version of the new character named Uta. As Shanks leaves, the young girl cries for him.
There's finally some action as we see more of Uta in what appears to be a live concert which is attended by several fans. However, the trailer also ends with Shanks seemingly watching as Uta smiles in recognition.
It has already been established that Uta is Shanks' daughter and that she will play a major role in One Piece Film: RED. However, it is still unclear why the girl wants Monkey D. Luffy to quit being a pirate. Hopefully, we'll finally get to learn more about the character in the next few weeks. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
One Piece Film: RED will be directed by Goro Taniguchi while Tsutomu Kuroiwa wrote the screenplay. Eiichiro Oda himself serves as executive producer on the movie.
The film will star Mayumi Tanaka as Monkey D. Luffy, Kazuya Nakai as Roronoa Zoro, Akemi Okamura as Nami, Kappei Yamaguchi as Usopp, Hiroaki Hirata as Sanji, Ikue Otani as Chopper, Yuriko Yamaguchi as Nico Robin, Kazuki Yao as Franky, Cho as Brook, Katsuhisa Hoki as Jimbei, and Shuichi Ikeda as Red-Haired Shanks. The voice actor for Uta has not yet been revealed.
One Piece Film: RED will be released in theaters in Japan on August 6, 2022. The international release dates have not yet been announced.
