One Piece Day Promises Movie, Manga Updates for 25th Anniversary Event


In case you missed it, One Piece is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. That's why the franchise is dropping a lot of new content in the next two months. Although there haven't been many updates on these new content, it looks like we'll be getting more good news during One Piece Day!

One Piece Day was announced by the event's producers who released a schedule for the broadcast. The two-day event will be livestreamed in Japanese and English.

So what can we expect during One Piece Day? The first day will take place on the exact 25th anniversary of the manga's first chapter and will include a broadcast from the world premiere of One Piece Film: Red at the Nippon Budokan venue in Tokyo. The event will also feature special appearances from the film's cast, including Mayumi Tanaka, the voice of Monkey D. Luffy, and Kaori Nazuka, who portrays the film's new character Uta.

The first day will kick off on July 22 at 5:50 PM JST. Meanwhile, the second day of the livestream will begin on June 23 at 10:00 AM JST and will include a special performance from Hiroshi Kitadani, the musician behind the One Piece anime's first theme song. Fans will also be treated to an exclusive look at the production of some new figures and a One Piece trivia contest.

One of the major highlights of the second day will be a special screening of One Piece - Take Down! The Pirate Ganzak, the rare 1998 short that features the first official animation of Luffy and friends.

That's not the only thing to look forward to on One Piece Day. The producers are also teasing a number of new announcements regarding the future of the anime, manga, games and the live-action Netflix series.

The first day One Piece Day will kick off on July 22, 2022, at 5:50 PM JST while the second day of the livestream will begin on June 23, 2022, at 10:00 AM JST.
