The chapter begins eight years after the God Valley incident at the Kingdom of Sorbet in the South Blue.

Kuma became a bona fide clergyman at 17 years old, using his miracle hands to heal the elderly under 21-year-old Ginny’s discretion.

Ginny, being a cheapskate, scolds the elderly about freeloading, but they respond that they’ve all been struggling just to meet the celestial tribute the cold-hearted King Becori wants them to pay.

Not only is King Becori hell-bent on paying the tribute, but he also doesn’t care about whether the old farts are too sick to contribute.

If they fail to pay, King Becori will lock them up, similar to one of their acquaintances who ended up starving to death inside his prison cell.

He doesn’t feed his prisoners, but he’s happy to bend over backward for the celestial dragons.

As it turns out, Kuma is not just healing all the people’s pain and suffering; he also takes them with his own body, resulting in his own injuries, much to Ginny’s concern.

Even so, Kuma is more than happy to help them ease their burden.

25 years ago, when Kuma was 22 years old, Ginny asked Kuma to get married, but the latter was worried about having the same fate as his father, which would leave the latter unhappy all her life.

Upon seeing the article about the freedom fighters, Kuma dreams that he will one day head out to sea and dedicate his life to saving people, just like Dragon.

22 years ago, when Kuma was 25 years old at Castle Town in the Kingdom of Sorbet, Kuma picked a fight with the royal army after kidnapping some southern people after the new law about southerners was passed.

King Becori’s new law was hard to swallow as it cut out the Southerners after the Borders of Sorbet stopped at the edge of the northern province.

This was passed so the kingdom of Sorbet would thrive as a glorious nation, at least in the eyes of King Becori.

Ginny and the others were thrown in jail after they raised hell to get Kuma back, but they failed in the process.

The Rise of the Revolutionary Army

Thankfully, the freedom fighters led by Dragon and Ivankov arrived and overthrew King Becori’s corruption, which slowly turned the country into a cesspool of bigotry and hate.

Ivankov recruits Kuma and Ginny to become freedom fighters, and they eventually became known around the world as the Revolutionary Army.

Kuma became one of its pillars as they took up arms against the corruption happening all around the world.

Dragon declares that they will act as mercenaries to solve the problem of lack of funds. They will support those who already have the will to topple their monarchs, fueling their rebellious spirits.

All of their recruits will get weapons training drilled into them so that everyone will grow into a boundless army spread throughout the world.

Everything was going according to the Revolutionary Army’s plans, but not until Ginny was captured before she linked up with Kuma’s squadron.
