Here’s What Happened Before One Piece Chapter 1082
The title of One Piece Chapter 1081 is Tenth Ship Captain of the Blackbeard Pirates, Kuzan, and it picks up where the previous chapter left off in Pirate Island.
After Garp’s devastating attack, he lands safely on the island thanks to Prince Grus Cumulo Glorpus power.
Garp’s battleship also landed, angering the pirates even more.
He asked everyone not to move, or they'd suffer even more. He looked at the mess he had made and believed that he had been losing his edge.
The remaining pirates want to shut Garp up since he can’t possibly do more damage than this.
Koby appears and runs toward Garp, while Helmeppo cries tears of joy, knowing that his friend is alive.
Koby had a sweet reunion with his allies, only to be cut off by Kuzan’s sudden arrival.
Garp and Kuzan face each other, while Koby and the others worry about Hibari, whom Kuzan has frozen.
The pirates cheered for Kuzan’s arrival, and they had a ray of hope.
Kuzan talks to Koby, saying that he isn’t allowed to escape when Blackbeard is not around.
Two years ago, Admirals Akainu and Aokiji fought over the right to be the next naval fleet admirals.
And about a year after that, on an island in the New World, Kuzan encountered Blackbeard after the former used his devil fruit powers to freeze the latter’s henchmen.
Blackbeard wanted Kuzan to undo his abilities, but Kuzan warned him to watch out with that Tremor-Tremor fruit, for his crew would crumble to pieces.
Kuzan also revealed that he was not the first person to make a move.
He told Blackbeard that he was in a state of mourning and it was not the right time to test him, so he was not in the wrong.
Eventually, Kuzan thawed Blackbeard’s men and even drank booze with them.
Kuzan shared the events of his fight with Akainu, even showing the leg he lost, which he fills out with ice at all times.
Catarina Devon changed the subject and asked Kuzan if he knew anyone with a burn scar.
Following that, Jesus Burgess stated that there are four red poneglyph in the world that are more important than any others.
Two of the four poneglyph belong to Kaido and Big Mom, but the other two can’t be found.
Blackbeard reveals that one of the two is said to be held by a man with a burn scar, which Kuzan jokingly assumes is him.
Laffitte said that the man with the burn scar rides in an all-black ship and that he swallows his enemies in a gigantic vortex if they wander too close to his ship.
Shiryu suspects the man is from the government since they, too, have dark secrets.
Furthermore, if the government has one of the stones, no pirate will ever reach the One Piece treasure.
Kuzan denies seeing the poneglyph, recalling only a good friend fighting against the government at Ohara and a small girl's sad, lonely eyes.
Laffitte approaches Blackbeard and suggests they steal Kuzan's devil fruit powers.
But Kuzan overheard and became furious, forcing Blackbeard to apologize on behalf of his crew.
Blackbeard invites Kuzan to join them on their journey, knowing that the latter is now a free man.
He also advised Kuzan that cooperating pirates merely needed to coordinate their interests.
Kuzan’s flashback was cut as Garp yelled at him to put Hibari back to normal, let Koby go, and return to the Marines.
However, Kuzan refused, now that he is the 10th ship captain of the Blackbeard Pirates. He also exclaims that he lives the life he wants now.
Kuzan launched an iceball attack against Garp, but it was not working at all.
In return, Garp attacks with his Blue Hole, punching Kuzan to the ground and saying that wavering is a sign of weakness.
Meanwhile, on Winner Island, New World, the Polar Tang submarine of the Heart Pirates has been sunk.
Blackbeard laughs and mocks the pirates as Trafalgar Law and Bepo lie unconscious on the ground.
Blackbeard also exclaims that those hundred pirates whose hearts they stole at Rocky Port are all living in fear on Pirate Island.
If he brings back everyone’s hearts, everyone will be in a celebratory mood.
While Blackbeard decides what to do with the Op-Op fruit, Bepo remembers Chopper’s words and chomps on a special drug that the latter gave him before.
Bepo gained strength, and he turned into his Sulong form without the full moon’s appearance, surprising Blackbeard and the others.
This allowed Bepo to grab Trafalgar Law and jump to the sea to survive.
Law wants Bepo to not leave the crew behind, but the latter is determined not to let the former die.
Before the chapter ends, the narrator declares that the Heart Pirates have been defeated on Winner Island.
