Manga worlds collide as a One Piece and Detective Conan special collaboration was announced recently with the participation of series creators, Eiichiro Oda and Gosho Aoyama.
The collaboration was announced recently via a video uploaded on the official One Piece YouTube channel. This video is entitled "Shinjitsu wa Itsumo Hitotsunagi no Daihihō" (The Truth Is Always One Treasure in English) which is a reference to the iconic catchphrases of both series.
The collab video features cool shots of animated One Piece and Detective Conan manga panels along with details regarding the collaboration. You can watch it here:
This new collab is surprising to see, especially considering that One Piece and Detective Conan are serialized in competing magazines – Weekly Shonen Jump and Weekly Shonen Sunday, respectively.
Both series need no introduction, but here’s a quick refresher in case you’re unfamiliar.
One Piece is a manga series by Eiichiro Oda which began back in 1997. It continues to be one of the most popular manga today, with over 1,000 chapters in 102 volumes.
