Oh My Girl will break the K-pop industry's 7-year curse this year.

Most K-pop idols that debuted in the past years ended up facing the 7-year curse. The term refers to K-pop groups face when they disband in the music industry before their 7th anniversary.

For Oh My Girl's part, they might be the next group to break the curse as they near their anniversary in April. The WM Entertainment girl group also plans to give their fans a special gift before the big day comes.

Oh My Girl to Return With New Music

SPOTV NEWS, via Naver, revealed that the 7-piece girl group is currently preparing to make a comeback next month.

Initially, WM Entertainment did not release any details about the return. However, following the emergence of the report, the agency officially confirmed the news.

"Oh My Girl is scheduled to return with a new album in March," it said.

The next album will serve as their latest project 10 months since releasing Dear OHMYGIRL in May 2021. It was Oh My Girl's eighth EP which presented the lead single Dun Dun Dance to the fans. The same single became the group's first-chart topper after scoring top spot on the Gaon Digital Chart.

But in addition to that, the girl group dropped their promotional single Shark in December through Universe Music.

Oh My Girl Reaches New Milestone

Despite their 10-month absence in the K-pop music scene, Oh My Girl was able to join the top artists with the highest view count on YouTube in 2021.

A post on Theqoo listed the Most-Watched Idol Videos of 2021, where the WM Entertainment group ranked 6th. It followed IU, BLACKPINK, aespa, TWICE, and Brave Girls on the list.

Meanwhile, Red Velvet, ITZY, IZ*ONE, and SNSD's Taeyeon completed the top 10. Oh My Girl secured the spot by earning 1.8 million views.
