The new One Piece anime arc isn’t the only thing getting fans excited. That’s because the anime adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s Monsters finally revealed its official release date in a brand-new trailer.

This anime’s release window was announced before, though, at the time, only its release month was confirmed. Now, the show’s release date on Netflix has been confirmed, and fans won’t have to wait too long to watch it.

What’s more, the trailer also shows action-packed clips that highlight the anime’s voice cast.

Officially titled Monsters: 103 Mercies Dragon Damnation in English, this new anime is an exciting one for many reasons.

This anime is one that many One Piece fans are looking forward to given that it’s based on Eiichiro Oda’s one-shot manga of the same name. The one-shot was published on Shonen Jump even before One Piece.

To give fans a better idea of what to expect, a new trailer was shared featuring action-packed snippets:

What’s interesting about Monsters is that it’s considered part of the One Piece canon. After all, the main character, Ryuma, plays a major role in the Thriller Bark arc.

Ryuma has a new voice actor who is part of the anime’s stacked voice cast. The anime’s main VAs include:

  • Yoshimasa Hosoya (Reiner Braun in Attack on Titan) as Ryuma
  • Kana Hanazawa (Mitsuri Kanroji in Demon Slayer) as Flare
  • Hiroki Tochi (Maine in Cyberpunk: Edgerunners) as Cyrano
  • Mitsuaki Madono (Issei Ryuudou in Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works) as D.R.
  • Katsuhito Nomura (Ichitaka Seto in Ichitaka's Delusion Diary) as Master

Aside from being a canon story, this anime will be one to watch out for by anime fans as it’s the first major project by E&H Production. This is the studio of Sunghoo Park, the director of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 1.

Previously, this anime was confirmed to be released on Netflix this month, January 2024. Now, Monsters: 103 Mercies Dragon Damnation is confirmed to get a Netflix global release on January 21, 2024.

As this anime is based on a one-shot manga, it won’t be a long series. Instead, it’s an original net animation that is only one standard anime episode in length.

Even though it’s a short anime, One Piece fans at least have the main anime, which recently began its exciting new Egghead arc.
