No Man’s Sky on PC Officially Coming Worldwide on Aug. 12

It's official. Hello Games has confirmed that PC players will have to wait a while longer to get their hands on No Man's Sky.

Previously, sharp-eyed fans had spotted a change in the release date over at the official No Man's Sky website. There had been some confusion, with some fans speculating that the change was just for PC releases outside North America, as the latter was supposed to hit on Aug. 9.

Hello Games' Sean Murray has broken the silence over his official Twitter in a series of tweets, seen below. Now, No Man's Sky will be coming to the PC worldwide on Aug. 12.

Granted, the release date was just pushed back for three days. Fan reactions to the new delay have been mixed. Some fans are just asking for reassurance that it will not experience another delay on the PS4. However, there are some fans who apparently took the day off on Aug. 9.

While all of that is happening, there was also a barrage of gameplay videos that released beforehand. According to Ars Technica, there have been a couple of sites that had access to copies. In response to this, Sony had supposedly stated that since early copies of the game before an expected pre-release patch was rolled out was not going to be fair.

This is why the patch will erase any progress made by those who have already accessed the game. Considering how there are also one player who had leaked a considerable amount of the game, wiping server data clean will make it a level playing field again.

No Man's Sky will release on the PS4 on Aug. 9 for North and Aug. 10 for Europe. The PC version will be out on Aug. 12.
