Marvel Contest of Champions is Getting Loki, Ups the Game for Passive Aggressive Players

The God of Trickster Loki is getting into the Battlerealm. And he's bringing a great deal of pain as the puppet master, which, as his name suggests, is his specialty.

It seems that Loki's arrival is not exactly the best thing for The Collector. But given that he has a supposedly powerful ally who will be making great use of his power for mischief.

Over at the official Marvel website, Lead Character Artist Gene Campbell and Kabam Champion Designer Piero Herrera shared their design for Loki and how he'll manifest his power in the Battlerealm.

Loki will be looking like his Mighty Thor self, complete with the gold and green drapes. This not only looked great in design, but also allowed him to blend in with the other Asgardian heroes who are already in the Battlerealm.

In keeping with his character, Loki will be all about playing from the sidelines instead of brawling it out with the other fighters. According to Herrera, the attacks are more about sorcery and one that hails back to his roots as a Frost Giant.

"Loki is all about taking advantage of the opponent by stealing their Buffs and Debuffing them in the process. His signature ability ‘Ascendant' passively gives him Power in order to use Special 1 and steal the opponent's Buffs. While stealing Buffs is a powerful ability, Loki activates an even more powerful version of this ability by doing a Special 3. When doing a Special 3, Loki Curses opponents with a dark energy blast, dealing damage over time and steals any Buffs they activate, and you can even reset the duration of the Curse by doing a Heavy Attack or a Special 1."

This means that not only will his special attacks be about getting power from his opponents, but the Special 2 will involve an ice attack against opponents. Of course, this particular move will require leverage from Loki, so he will need to have more health compared to his opponent.

Loki is already available in Marvel Contest of Champions. He can already join the Summoner's team, but it's best to check the in-game messaging and arena announcements for more instructions.
