After showing off other characters in recent previews, the upcoming Nier Automata anime finally gave us a look at the fan-favorite A2 in the show’s latest trailer. As expected, fans were delighted to see this beloved character finally make an appearance.
The new trailer was shared on the official Aniplex YouTube channel.
A key visual featuring A2 was also shared on the anime’s official Twitter account, with updates also shared recently via the Nier Automata anime website.
Fan-Favorite A2 Finally Makes an Appearance
When the Nier Automata anime was first announced, fans got a glimpse of the two main characters from the game – 2B and 9S.
Since then, we got first looks at other characters from the game, as well as new characters. Now though, A2 is finally here.
As a major character in Nier Automata, A2 is a clear fan favorite, and it shows in the reactions to the reveal of her anime form.
In the tweet that features the new visual with A2, many fans replied with how happy they are to see A2 and how excited they are to see her.
Of course, there are some fans who are still hesitant about the anime. Though for the most part, the reception to her look in the anime is positive.
It’s tough to explain the appeal of A2 without getting into spoiler territory.
But what we can talk about is that she plays a pivotal role in the game’s events, which means she will also be a major character in the anime if it adapts the game’s story faithfully.

NieR:Automata Ver 1.1a New Trailer, Release Date
Officially entitled Nier: Automata Ver1.1a, this upcoming anime by A-1 Pictures (the studio behind Kaguya-sama: Love Is War and Lycoris Recoil) was announced earlier this year, though we’ve only seen glimpses of it in several previews and trailers.
The latest trailer once again doesn’t show a lot of scenes, nor does it feature much in the way of details regarding what to expect.
But it should still excite fans of the game, especially as it brings back the original game’s voice cast, including Ayaka Suwa as A2.

Based on what we’ve seen so far, the upcoming anime will adapt the story of the Nier Automata game. Though we won’t be surprised to see its story deviate from the source material.
The Nier anime will premiere in January 2023, though there’s no word yet on a specific release date.
