Trigun is one of the most iconic anime of the 90s, though in case you’re unfamiliar, the series began as a manga series by Yasuhiro Nightow that was serialized in Monthly Shonen Captain from April 1995 to January 1997.

Following its first run, the series continued its serialization in the Young King OURs magazine under the title Trigun Maximum.

The original Trigun anime was animated by Madhouse and consisted of 26 episodes. Its original run took place between April and September 1998.

The series is set in the 32nd century and follows Vash the Stampede, a man with a bounty of 60 billion double dollars and nicknamed “The Humanoid Typhoon.”

Vash has a massive bounty on his head after he accidentally destroyed a city.

Instead of being a fearsome bandit though, Vash is a pacificist and avoids fighting whenever possible.

Back in June, the new anime series Trigun Stampede was announced, and it is a new adaptation of Nightow’s iconic manga.

The new series is animated by Orange, the studio behind the Beastars TV anime. Because of this, Stampede is a 3DCG anime series.
