It looks like EA is gearing up to reveal a new Star Wars game very soon!

Though it's been known for a while that EA Motive is working on a Star Wars project, Star Wars: Project Maverickleaks have already made their way online back in March. Now, it seems like the game will officially be revealed to fans and players next week.

That is according to known Star Wars insider and Cinelinx editor-in-chief Jordan Maison, who has previously teased the game and recently took to Twitter to tease its alleged announcement. It is speculated to be revealed during the PS5 event, which was just recently confirmed to take place on June 4th, which essentially lines up with Maison's tease.

Unfortunately, Maison didn't provide further details, but this rumor gets even more exciting with Venture Beat journalist and general industry insider Jeff Grub, who teased a "Mel Gibson" related announcement for the first week of June as well. While it doesn't seem to be connected with the Star Wars game, Grub's tease is relevant because Gibson starred in a movie called Maverick (1994). Since then, fans have speculated these two teasers are related to the upcoming EA game.

While this is certainly exciting for players, this is only a speculation and should be taken with a grain of salt. That said, if this eventually gets confirmed, there's also a chance that some parts or details are subject to change.

Now that the PS5 event release date has been officially announced, it's a waiting game for Star Wars fans in the hopes of seeing Project Maverick come to life soon.
