Season 2 of Snowpiercer is premiering today, and TNT has shared a couple of new clips from the first episode on social media. The firt clip features newcomer Sean Bean as antagonist Mr. Wilford talking to Melanie Cavill (played by Jennifer Connelly). "You've run away from me all these years and all of a sudden you just can't bear to be apart from me," Mr. Wilford says.

The villainous billionaire genius and inventor wants his train back, but Snowpiercer is not the only thing he wants to control. Mr. Wilford wants to control Snowpiercer's people, but in the second clip, Andre Layton (played by Daveed Giggs) says that the "forty car parasite does not call the shots around here. Snowpiercer does."

It's great to see Sean Bean return in a villainous role, and I think he's the perfect choice to play Mr. Wilford, the inventor who built Snowpiercer and its global railway to save a small population of humanity from the Freeze. Many in the train believe him to be a near-mythical Great Engineer of Snowpiercer. Melanie assumed his identity and position in charge of the train, and Wilford was believed dead after Melanie abandoned him to die at boarding but it turns out that he is alive aboard the Big Alice supply train.

TNT's Snowpiercer is a post-apocalyptic dystopian thriller based on both the 2013 South Korean-Czech movie of the same title, directed by Parasite director Bong Joon-ho, and the 1984 French graphic novel Le Transperceneige, from which the film was adapted, by Jacques Lob.
