New Game of Thrones Spinoff Announcement Reignites Henry Cavill’s Potential Casting

Amid Henry Cavill making his immediate DC exit despite his Black Adam post-credits cameo, the actor’s fans were quick to speculate on the reason behind his sudden firing from DC Studios. Not to mention, leaving Netflix’s The Witcher in between.

There’s no denying that picturing the former Man of Steel actor in the Game of Thrones franchise is no difficult matter. In fact, it would make sense for him to make another jump to a different franchise while he’s at it, considering he has already done similar projects previously.

Recently, HBO just confirmed that a new Game of Thrones spinoff is in the works. This is apart from House of the Dragon Season 2 and Season 3 approaching their release dates. One of the many series spin-offs they had in mind was to focus on Aegon I Targaryen conquering Westeros.

Now, seeing as this was similar to a previous rumor indicating the possibility of MCU’s Elizabeth Olsen and The Witcher’s Henry Cavill joining House of the Dragon Season 2, with Cavill initially speculated to play the titular Targaryen in the new upcoming spinoff.

Amid the new announcement from HBO, fans are once again bringing to the table that Cavill should be the first top casting for the titular role. Check out some of the fan tweets below:

However, no matter how much fans petition for Henry Cavill to join the franchise, the actor would have to speak his thoughts on the matter sometime. Though it is worth mentioning that the last time Cavill talked about conquering Westeros, the former Superman actor had one thing to say:

“To be fair, when I was watching House of the Dragon, I was like, ‘I feel like a lot of these guys could make really good Witchers…’ I think it would be cool to be in Westeros, I really do.” Cavill said, “I don’t think there’s a place for me in there, though.”

Meanwhile, there is no official release date yet for Aegon’s conquest spinoff series.
