Never Have I Ever season 4 does not have a release date yet. We do not have to wait long for information, though, because Never Have I Ever season 4 has been confirmed to debut sometime in 2023.

Season 1 premiered in April 2022, season 2 debuted in July 2021, season 3 came out in August 2022, with season 4 being announced in March, months before the third season premiered. If this trend is followed, the last season of Never Have I Ever may premiere around the year's second quarter.

When Did Never Have I Ever season 4 Start Filming?

Filming for Never Have I Ever season 4 officially wrapped up by early August 2022. Reports show that the cast and crew celebrated the end of production with a big party that included a carnival, speeches from Maitreyi and Lang, and a four-season blooper reel.

Never Have I Ever season 4 is the Last Season of the Series

In a statement released by Erin Underhill, the president of Universal Television, she explained that Never Have I Ever will only have 4 seasons simply because high school doesn't last forever. She said:

Four seasons of Never Have I Ever is truly exciting and a little bittersweet because, as a loyal fan, I'd love Devi's journey to go on forever. But just like high school, all great things must come to an end...We can't wait to experience all of the messiness, the LOLs and the tears that will surely unfold in Devi's senior year.

Series creator Mindy Kaling also talked about limiting the show to 4 seasons with Entertainment Tonight.

Four seasons for a high school show felt like it made sense. They can't be in high school forever. We've seen those shows. Like, you've been in high school for 12 years. What is going on here? Also, the actors get older and it starts looking insane that a 34-year-old is playing a 15-year-old."

Most of the cast from Never Have I Ever season 3 are expected to return in the fourth season.

Devi and the Gang

Maitreyi Ramakrishnan returns to play the lead of the series, Devi Vishwakumar, along with Jaren Lewinson as Ben. Ramona Young will most likely join her as Eleanor, Lee Rodriguez as Fabiola, and Megan Suri as Aneesa. We may also see Poorna Jagannathan as Nalini, Richa Moorjani as Devi's cousin Kamala and Utkarsh Ambudkar as Kamala's love interest Manish.

Benjamin Norris is also set to return as Trent since his character has to repeat senior year. Darren Barnet is also expected to be a part of the season still even if his character, Paxton Hall-Yoshida, is already an incoming Arizona State University student. It seems the Paxton-Devi-Ben love triangle is far from over!

We may also see most of Devi's family and friends return for season 4 including Ranjita Chakravarty as Nirmala, Niecy Nash as Dr. Jamie Ryan, and Sendhil Ramamurthy as Mohan.

Characters Who are Not Returning in Sherman Oaks in Never Have I Ever season 4

Some of the cast may not be returning for season 4 of Never Have I Ever.

Anirudh Pisharody and Sarayu Blue's characters, Des and Rhyah, may not be returning for the final season since the mother and son have not ended things positively with the Vishwakumars.

New Characters in Never Have I Ever season 4

One new cast member is joining Never Have I Ever season 4. Michael Cimino from Love, Victor is set to play a character named Ethan, a brand-new heartthrob at Sherman Oaks.

The third season of Never Have I Ever ended with Devi and Ben finally hooking up, so this is where the next season will pick up. Season 4 may answer the questions fans and viewers were left with, such as Devi and Ben's status and if Paxton is really out of the picture. Will she finally make a choice between Ben and Paxton?

Since Devi also chose to stay at Sherman Oaks High School, we may get to meet more characters now that they are in their senior year. As Devi approaches graduation, she has many big decisions to make.

In an interview with People, Lewinson teased the season as the best one they have ever made.

I think that season 4 is the most hilarious, heartwarming, witty, beautiful creation that I've ever been a part of. Because you get so connected to these characters and the journeys that they go on in season 4, you're watching them grow up before your eyes. And it's so special seeing the people that they become and the maturity that they gain, and it's written so beautifully. I just know that it's going to mean so much to so many people to see what these characters go through and how they transition through those big life-changing moments.
