It's officially happening: Good Omens Season 2 has started production. The news was confirmed by none other than author and producer Neil Gaiman himself.

Radio Times has just tweeted the production update stating that the second season of Good Omens has started filming. It didn't take long for Gaiman to see the post and retweet it with his own confirmation.

This is truly great news considering that there were speculations that the series will not start filming until next year. Still, we're glad to know that the wait for Good Omens Season 2 isn't going to be as long as expected.

Gaiman officially announced the second season back in June as he shared the teaser poster for the show's return. In addition to that, the American Gods writer revealed that he and co-author Terry Pratchett had discussed plans for the sequel before Pratchett's passing in 2015. Those ideas will be used in Good Omens Season 2.

For now, details about the second season have not yet been revealed. However, fans can rest assured that Michael Sheen will return as Aziraphale and has already undergone the transformation to play the angel. Hopefully, we'll also get a glimpse at David Tennant's new look as he reprises his role as the demon Crowley.

Good Omens follows the angel Aziraphale and the demon Crowley who have spent most of their time on Earth and have grown to love the lifestyles in the world. But as the young Antichrist threatens to destroy the life they have grown accustomed to, the duo race against time to prevent the upcoming Armageddon.

The second season might reveal what life has been like for Crowley and Aziraphale after they stopped the End of Days. The show might even offer a look at what has happened to little Adam after he defied his father (his real father Satan, that is) and restored the world.

Good Omens Season 2 is currently in production and has not yet been given an official release date. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
